Synopsis:

Befriend is an interactive video installation that asks users to interact and manipulate their self image as it echos through time.

Befriend is a collaborative piece which was created by Ella Myers, Nathan Garvie and Bryan Adare. The initial idea for Befriend was come upon during a production class at Ryerson University. We were asked to come up with ideas for an art piece that involved people working together for a common goal. We liked the idea we came up with so much that we've decided to move forward with it. The main purpose behind Befriend is to force strangers to interact in an art gallery setting. The general tendency in an art gallery is for people to be very quiet and reserved. They don't want to get in people's way or be seen to not being serious about the art being presented.
